Which athlete’s inspired you when you while you were growing up?

Mick Fowler – An award-winning British mountaineer and author

Alpinists like Riccardo Cassin, Anderl Heckmair and Walter Bonaiti who first climbed the classic eye catching lines in the Alps were a great inspiration to me in my early days. I saw their climbs when I was climbing easy routes with my father and longed to try them myself one day.
Sam Hamer – Ambitious Rock Climber
There are a lot of great and inspiring athletes out there but I guess when I first started getting into climbing, Chris Sharma was always a big motivation.

Angelika Rainer – World Champion Ice Climber
When I started climbing, I was really fascinated by the American climber Lynn Hill and her accomplishment of free climbing as the first person The Nose on Yosemite.
Molly Thompson Smith – Climber and youngest member of the Berghaus team
Molly July
Although she isn’t a climber, I always looked up to Kelly Holmes. To me it didn’t matter what sport she did, it was the way she presented herself as an athlete, her motivation and determination to succeed that really inspired me to get serious about sport.

Steve Birkinshaw – Veteran Mountain Runner
Top fell runners such as Billy Bland, Joss Naylor and Kenny Stewart. The times that they completed fell races in are amazing and many have still not been broken, despite so called advances in training, nutrition and equipment. They succeeded due to hard work and determination.
