Having not long turned 80 years old, Sir Chris Bonington successfully repeated one of his most famous climbs along with Leo Houlding. Leo himself became the youngest person to reach the summit of the Old Man of Hoy, aged just 11 at the time.
Together they raised funds and awareness for motor neurone disease charities, in memory of Sir Chris’ wife Wendy, who died of the condition in 2014. Below you can see a fantastic video with brand new footage from their climb back in August 2014.
If modern British adventure has a face, it looks a lot like Leo Houlding. Based in the Lake District, UK, he is one of Britain's top climbers and among the best in the world. He is a veteran of a score of epic ascents, including Everest, but specialises in free climbing the most technical peaks and biggest walls in the world.
