Berghaus have backed bird conservation charity, the World Pheasant Association (WPA), in their submission for funding from the Association for Conservation. The WPA were nominated for a grant by Berghaus and beat off competition from 46 other nominated projects to receive funding. The grant will be used to expend teaching facilities and monitor local wildlife in the remote Seti Khola valley in the Annapurna Himalayas of Nepal, home to 5 out of 6 of Nepal’s Himalayan pheasant species. This will allow both a nursery and ‘pre-college’ teaching facilities to be built and provide teaching staff, furniture and resources; all of which will vastly enhance the education opportunities in this area.
