Berghaus is giving its support to a team of nine intrepid celebrities as they embark on the toughest physical challenge of their lives to raise money for Comic Relief. For the BT Red Nose Day Desert Trek, the celebrities will cover 100km in five days in the Kaisut Desert in Kenya, one of the most inhospitable places in the world.
The intrepid team – Ronni Ancona, Craig David, Lorraine Kelly, Scott Mills, Olly Murs, Dermot O’Leary, Nadia Sawalha, Kara Tointon and Peter White – will push themselves to the limit as they take on the searing heat of the desert to raise as much cash as possible for Comic Relief. We have provided them with some of the latest kit from our spring/summer range to help them cope with temperatures as high as 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
The team’s incredible effort will raise money to help people living unimaginably tough lives both across Africa and the UK. Their journey will be captured on film for a documentary which will be broadcast in the run up to Red Nose Day on 18th March – you can follow their progress and sponsor the trekkers at www.rednoseday.com/trek. And we will be adding updates to our Facebook page during the trek.
The first members of the team set out from the UK this Friday, with the trek due to start soon after. Good luck to the trekkers from everyone at Berghaus – we hope that they reach their goals, both in the desert and in their fundraising!
