Berghaus Prepares to Bring Adventure (and Elevenses) to Keswick Mountain Festival
We are preparing to welcome visitors to the 2017 Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF) with navigation challenges, product innovation insights, a climbing legend, and cups of tea.
Located in the Festival Village on Crow Park, the Berghaus Adventure Hub will be open from 9-11 June and will be a focal point for our activities during the festival.
Hope you can make it!
A Cuppa with Sir Chris Bonington
Sir Chris Bonington, Britain’s most famous mountaineer, will be appearing in the Theatre by the Lake on Saturday 10 June, as part of KMF’s main speaker programme.
At 11:00am the following day, festival goers are invited to ‘Elevenses with Sir Chris’ in the Berghaus Adventure Hub, when they will be able to ask Sir Chris questions over a cup of tea (and possibly a biscuit).
The event is expected to be busy, so to avoid disappointment, we are asking to please register for the event by visiting the hub beforehand.
Up For a Challenge?
We have also teamed up with another of our sponsored athletes, Steve Birkinshaw, and West Cumberland Orienteering Club, to present a special orienteering challenge at the festival.
Visitors to the Berghaus Adventure Hub will be given the opportunity to tackle a maze style course throughout the weekend, with prizes on offer for the fastest finishers.
A whole lot more…
Another Berghaus Adventure Hub attraction at this year’s Keswick Mountain Festival will be our ‘Let’s Take This Outside’, a 360 degree virtual reality experience that gives visitors the chance to climb, scramble and hike through some of the UK’s most loved outdoor locations, right from the heart of Keswick.
Members of MtnHaus™, the Berghaus innovation team, will be on hand all weekend to answer questions about kit and provide inside knowledge about the multi-award winning Hyper 100 jacket and other new products. There will also be Berghaus freebies up for grabs throughout the festival.
Where to find us
The Berghaus Adventure Hub will be located in the Festival Village, at the heart of Keswick Mountain Festival.
Free to enter during the day, the site will also be open for ticket holders during the festival’s live music schedule on the Friday and Saturday evenings, which will feature KT Tunstall, Cast, The Christians, Peatbog Faeries and various local acts.
Open from 8-11 June, this year’s Keswick Mountain Festival is set to attract over 20,000 visitors to Cumbria. It was first launched in 2007 and has grown into one of the biggest and best loved outdoor events in the UK calendar. The packed four-day programme includes a host of sporting events for all ages, outdoor adventures, live music, high profile speakers, camping, exhibitor stands and a wide variety of taster activities.
See you there!
